Dr. Brita Mittal, MD, FASA, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She received a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology prior to obtaining her M.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her anesthesiology residency in 2016 at Stanford University and fellowship in Head and Neck Anesthesia and Advanced Airway Management at Stanford University in 2017. Prior to joining UTMB as an Associate Professor in 2022, she was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr. Mittal's academic interests include anesthesia for head and neck surgery, difficult airway management, resident education, advanced oxygenation techniques, anesthesia for patients with epidermolysis bullosa, and space medicine.
