Uses

Fresh frozen plasma (FFP) can be used to increase clotting factors. This can be useful in the setting of liver disease, supratherapeutic warfarin levels, heparin resistance due to ATIII deficiency, or significant hemorrhage. FFP contains all numbered clotting factors in addition to albumin and immunoglobulins. On average, transfusing one unit of FFP will raise clotting factor levels by 10% in an adult.
